Flourishing Life magnesium officially began early in 2017, however it was many years in the making. I never actually planned to be in the magnesium business, but I had seen such incredible results from clients using this miracle mineral with everything from insomnia, anxiety and depression to cramps, arthritis and joint pain. Personally I had only used it in supplement form and to be honest hadn’t had such profound results. Why wasn’t I also raving about this life changing magic mineral? After further research, I discovered that the amazing ‘miracle like’ results others were having was from transdermal use, not supplements. I gave it a try and soon discovered that when I used it transdermally my overall health and wellbeing benefited as a result. I didn’t need to be in pain or distress to use it – it was the missing link to total health I had been searching for. I felt energetic, alive, pain free and slept like a baby!
As anyone who knows me will confirm, when I discover something new or love something, I immerse myself fully in it, and so I decided to learn more about this miracle mineral for myself. I turned my kitchen into a laboratory and began experimenting. I played with all sorts of formulas and mixtures and eventually perfected a beautiful balance of magnesium using magnesium chloride from the dead sea (the world’s highest concentration of magnesium chloride) and the result was what is now our Magnesium Oil Spray.
I didn’t stop there though, as I had heard stories of people who didn’t like the feeling of using an oil and I wanted to make another product that may assist with helping them get their magnesium, so I started with some shea butter my husband Shanton had recently bought me from Ghana, straight from the nut! I added coconut oil, macadamia and some essential oils and my first batch of magnesium body butter was made, it was sumptuous, nourishing and helped me sleep deeply if I applied it at bedtime. I also liked the idea of building an evening ritual around applying the butter slowly, taking a few mindful breaths while it soaked in and it became something I really looked forward to at the end of each day.
I shared a few jars with friends and family and they loved it, then requests for more and more began coming. They too loved the nightly ritual and enjoyed sharing the butter with their loved ones, and especially little ones before going to bed as part of their evening routine.
I continued to work on the formula and each one got better and better and eventually after much trial and error I perfected our Magnesium Body Butter. I had quite a few requests for a nut free version, so in order to minimise any potential cross contamination I found an even better option and rather than macadamia, I now use beautiful Apricot Kernel Oil.
People starting tell me how much it helped them and their loved ones and within a couple of months, I had made and shipped hundreds of bottles and jars, and had several therapists in Adelaide using and selling it.
Everybody deserves to Flourish, and magnesium is one product that can be of enormous benefit to your mental and physical health and wellbeing, and I am excited and proud to be hand crafting this beautiful product. I also believe that health and wellbeing don’t need to be expensive, so I am committed to maintaining our affordable prices. Our products are all vegan, nut free, gluten free, chemical free, tested only on humans and hand made by me, with great love.
For every product sold, we donate a percentage to help fund the building of our women’s shelter in Ghana, a project very close to our heart.

Born in Shandong province in China, and currently living in Adelaide, Jimmy has extensive experience in international business relations and marketing, e-commerce and sales. With qualifications in commerce, management and marketing, he brings a high level of international business expertise to the Flourishing Life team as we prepare to expand our operations into South East Asia.
